Yummy Yards will not be doing a CSA for the 2017 season.
Andrew and Sibella (2016 season Yummy Yards farmers) are starting a new farm in Surrey, BC called Odyssey Market Gardens. They will be selling at farmers markets only for the 2017 season, but plan to have a CSA for the 2018 season, likely with Richmond and Vancouver pick-up and delivery. Please check out their website at http://www.odysseymarketgarden.ca/.

What’s in a Weekly Share?
Share size and content will vary throughout the season depending on what's ripe and ready to harvest. We aim to provide a variety of at least 7 different items each week. Shares are accompanied by an emailed newsletter with recipe ideas and updates from the farm.

What is CSA
Community Shared Agriculture is a global movement that is connecting consumers with their food producers. Members of our farm purchase a share of our production at the beginning of the season and in return receive fresh produce throughout the summer and fall in the form of a weekly box containing fresh vegetables and herbs. The contents of the box change every week as the season progresses and new crops mature. Members pick up their boxes directly from us every week, creating opportunities to visit the farm, talk to the farmer and learn about local food production.
Why participate in a CSA?
Being part of a CSA is a wonderful way to learn about what is able to grow in your region, and connects you with the people growing your food. For small scale farmers, assistance with capital at the beginning of the season helps to alleviate the financial strain that farmers experience before the harvest is ready. By becoming a member of a CSA, you help support the livelihoods of small scale and new farmers! |

Membership Agreement
Yummy Yards is committed to bringing the highest quality organic vegetables to its CSA customers. We pledge to provide seasonal veggie boxes starting in June until mid October. We will use all of our combined experience to mitigate any challenges presented by weather, insects, or plant disease.
You, as the Shareholder, commit to picking up your vegetables from one of our pick up locations each week. If you cannot make the pick up date, you are responsible to either have someone else pick up your vegetables for that week, or to have your share donated that week. Due to the number of shareholders involved, pick up times and locations are not flexible.
You, as the Shareholder, commit to understanding the challenges of growing seasonal vegetables. If the forces of nature make certain crops less available, you will accept that with grace and understanding. We, the farmers, commit to working with a large variety of vegetables so as to minimize any potential effects of losing a crop or two. We commit to using our experience, good techniques and equipment to provide you with the best quality of vegetables for the duration of the season.
You, as the Shareholder, commit to reading all of the CSA information found on this website, to educate yourself about what being part of a CSA is like. We, the farmers, commit to providing you with information from the farm throughout the season through weekly newsletters. We commit to providing you with opportunities to visit the farms and take part in vegetable growing should you want to. Together, we commit to contributing to a more healthy, safe and sustainable food system that is locally-oriented, and that inspires community interaction around food. We, the farmers, look forward to getting to know you and enjoying the season together.
With solidarity,
Adam, Andrew, Chelsea and Sibella
